AP, 1nabillion, is a multi-talented artist/music producer born and raised in one of the roughest hoods in America, known as the Coney Island section of Brooklyn, New York.
Ap's first performances started as a trumpet player in his grade school's band. For three years the band toured New York City schools and parks covering songs from the Beatles, Frank Sinatra to Whitney Houston. While enjoying traveling, Ap's heart was elsewhere and he decided not to pursue music at the time. "Growing up in a male dominate environment you either earned respect by joining a gang or playing ball, I chose ball." Through basketball Ap possessed a talent that earned respect in the streets as well as kept him focused on achieving success.
When entering into his junior year of high school, AP unwillingly hit the performance stage again. While his older brother and cousin performed without him, a shy Ap could be found hiding in the bathroom. Upon hearing his name called from the crowd, Ap ran out just in time to perform his first verse on stage. The applause was so overwhelming that the group was offered their first record deal with an independent label that same night.
Over the course of time, Ap's passion for music began to conflict with his love for basketball. Due to playing in an all star basketball camp, Ap missed out on an opportunity to perform for the legendary Run DMC and he vowed to never let that happen again. Ap began performing at different venues every week, sometimes as many as 3 times in a day which quickly earned him respect as an entertainer and potent lyricist.
Ap prides himself on being an activist who is unique amongst most of his peers as he chooses not to curse in his music, yet somehow give off a street, edgy, controversial auroa, all the while remaining spiritually grounded. This has allowed Ap to gain favor with not only the Hip Hop audience but the R&B, Gospel and Political crowds as well. In the summer of 2002, Ap was chosen for a missionary trip to aide the people of Nairobi, Kenya and Johannesburg, South Africa. Not only did he perform but Ap also took part in a march against corruption with over 400,000 plus Kenyan citizens through out city hall. Ap also was a guest performer for the Obama presidential campaign rally in New York.
He's done over 3000 hours of community service helping churches reach out to inner city youth and encourage them stop the violence and stay in school. Ap's list of performances have been so diverse that he's performed for the release party of Death Row Records (Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Dr Dre) co founder Lydia Harris's label Lady Boss ent. to rocking the mic as special guest performer at a Jewish Batmitzvah. He has also been one of the few hip hop artists to perform at various R&B venues such as Ashford and Simpson's Sugar Bar Nyc. His music video Da Verge ranked as high as the #2 spot, along side top gospel artists; Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary and rock band POD. AP's music video "Suppose 2 be" ranked #1 on Blastro.com knocking Lil Wayne's "Lolipop" out the top spot.
Now living in Los Angeles, California Ap has quickly made a name for himself as a performer, music producer, business man and video host for Welcome2nyc Tv. Ap states his goal is to spread love and peace in the world through inspirational message music. "I want to bring consciousness to the fore front of the music industry but do it with up tempo, fun loving, funky music. When you hear an Ap 1nabillion track, I want you to get ready to funk Da'body!"
