Oklahoma’s Hero: Kevin Durant Donates $1Million to Red Cross Oklahoma Tornado Relief!!!

Kevin Durant turns out to be Oklahoma’s Hero!

There was a devastating tornado that took place in the city of Moore on Monday, leaving atleast 51 dead. Thanks to the NBA all star Kevin Durant, he has donated $1 Million dollars to the Red Cross Hurricane relief efforts.

KD has taken twitter to support victims of the tragedy urging his followers to give what they can, saying

“Text “REDCROSS” to 90999 for $10 donation to help tornado victims in #OKC #okwx”

With Red Cross thanking him they tweeted back:

“@KDTrey5 steps forward and gives $1mil matching gift to the ARC for disaster relief, text “REDCROSS” to 90999 for a $10 donation.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are known to have some loyal fans and it only makes sense that their shooting guard would give back to his community in any way he could!

Massive Oklahoma City TORNADO Strikes AGAIN; 51 killed, 7 Children & More feared dead (LIVE UPDATES, PHOTOS & VIDEOS)

A very devastating, mile-wide tornado hit the suburb of Moore near Oklahoma City killing at least 51 people, destroying homes, buildings and a pair of elementary schools.

According to the state’s medical examiner, the death toll is expected to rise. Unfortunately, elementary schools—Plaza Towers and Briarwood were hit the hardest…. It’s unclear how many children were in them at the time the tornado hit, but according to KFOR-TV, at least seven children died at Plaza Towers, and as many as two dozen more were feared to be trapped inside the rubble.

Thankfully, many children have been rescued and pulled out a ALIVE as shown in the photo above, a makeshift triage center was set up in the school’s parking lot immediately.

“This is war-zone terrible,” Jon Welsh, a helicopter pilot for KFOR who lives in Moore, said while surveying the damage from the air. “This school is completely gone.”

The tornadoes came a day after dangerous storms ripped through the center of the country spawning at least a dozen tornadoes, killing two people and causing extensive damage from Georgia to Minnesota.
